Hot new 2019 TVs are starting to come out and we begin our review season with the highly-anticipated LG C9 OLED 4K HDR TV. Positioned as LG’s second most affordable OLED, the C9 series offers LG’s best OLED panel and picture processing available. Typically the C series doesn’t get the same design treatment as its more expensive cousins, but it appears LG has changed up its philosophy in that regard. Watch our unboxing of the C9 OLED, assemble the TV, get a close, hands on look, and explore some basic picture settings.

I was under the impression that oled screens are so thin they can't be held by the bottom of the screen or else it could snap. In the video it looks like they could handle the base of the screen quite reliably. Any tips on this? I heard never put the screen face down flat or else it could shatter

I just purchased this TV at Costco over the weekend 3/28/2020 and it is up and running for 2 days now, however, every time we turn it on there is a update for the TV then after a few minutes there is an update for the remote. This happens every single time we turn it on. What the heck is all the updates non stop. Is this normal? I can see one as you first set it up but 3 days now and it just did it again on both. Any advice ? thanks

This video was way more helpful than the complicated method that the LG manual suggests to set up my LG C9. Kudos and much appreciate your help!

I can say that as a cord cutter, the OTA tuner on this thing is awesome as well. It picked up 180 channels. My Tablo picked up 174 and my TCL picked up 172.

No axe to grind here, my new 12/31/19 OLED 65" took a dump on me yesterday …Luckily Costco took it back no questions asked…Traded down in price to a Samsung QLED….

You would be nuts to buy an OLED. The technology ow flawed because they suffer savagely from burn in.

When he mounts the TV to its stand he mentions that it locks into place. Does he mean it should be able to free-stand on its own without the screws??? I bought the same TV and mines did not lock in place at all and it required someone to hold this heavy TV in place while someone else rushes to install the 4 screws in the back of the stand. This expensive ass TV essentially dangles on the edge of its stand serving as a counter balance with only 4 tiny screws responsible for holding all its weight from falling forward and causing 2k worth of damage or worse.

Parents if your not wall mounting be very careful with your young kids around this TV. Just seems like an insane and needlessly dangerous way to design a stand. I'd return it if it weren't for the restocking fee.

How is the upscaling of 720p content? Specifically with American football and the motion/artifacts around players?

You spend nearly $2,000USD on a TV and manufactures give you the crappiest remotes! Do they expect that you're going to replace them?

Convinced my daughter & son in law to get the 65C9 when they went out TV shopping last year.
Now I need to get one…as soon as we sell the Panasonic 65DX800 purchased two years ago.
