So nobody is gonna say that this movie is somewhat similar to Indian "Ashiqui " movie.
Why does Bradley Cooper look like Kurt Cobain here?
what an insult to the origional
I thought he almost did a caricature of a bipolar man in silver linings so I wasn't thinking Bradley Cooper could really assume a role to where I didn't see Bradley Cooper anymore- totally wrong. He must have always wanted to play this old alcoholic rockstar man.. I think the accent helped him assume a different role and he did great with the chemistry- thought the bathtub fight scene was great… it's how and why couples fight, just trying to pull each other down and hurt. Sam Elliot- best part but that's just because I love Sam Elliot lol
that garage scene gets me every time 😢
A star is born and another faded.
Movie is garbage. Why have movie makers abandoned originality.
Thought it was a terrible movie. Poor character construction. Poor pacing. A serial killer could have come in and killed every character and I wouldn't have cared. Could not relate to the characters and felt little empathy towards them. Music was pretty good, but it's not good enough to save this movie.
It is a good movie, the music is the best part especially "Shallow".
Sam Eliot hit a grand slam.
Lady Gaga did great for a rookie but certainly not award winning, as if the Oscars had any credit left. Tony Collette and Tilda Swinton give the performances of their careers and they didn't even get nominated, Lady Gaga won Best Actress……that's political bullshit.
Bradley Cooper tried to act like Sam, which makes sense because they are brothers, but he was inconsistent.
absolute loved it
Andrew Dice Clay deserves mention as well. He was nearly unrecognizable and knocked his role of her dad out of the park.
Anyone who cries while watching a movie star in an interview…….
The funny guy from the hangover, and in other movies he’s just magnificent.
W
T
F
He will always be Will from Alias.
Loved it. I had to fight back tears several times in this. Every actor in here was incredible.
I just watched this and literally tugged at my soul 😭
Both Bradley and lady? I guess. Played their characters well but I think this movie is overrated.
Unpopular opinion: I think Bradley cooper overacted in this movie. He was just so tragic, seemed like he was gonna cry in every scene and his voice was so crooky inaudible. He seriously was the most damaged character I’ve ever witnessed, no arc just tragic the whole way through
nahhh this movie is a B- (okay drama, not so good romance)
Movie is directly derivative to 2013 Bollywood movie Ashiqui 2. Only difference is alcohol and drugs.
Co-wrote by Eli Roth… let that sink in lol
This movie is remake copy of Bollywood flim Aashiqui 2.
Ok I know it's all opinion but really? Lady Gaga one of the best singers of today? Really? I'm sorry but with all those weird noises she makes in her songs I can't agree with that, when it comes to modern musicians I'll gladly take System of a Down, Foo Fighters, or Avenged Sevenfold over her. Those are true musicians that combine great vocals with excellent instrument playing, not to mention they sing about serious issues.
this movie sucks giant cheese balls.
It's kinda late, still I watched this movie just because of your review. There is no doubt this is an awesome movie. I just wanna tell you that its inspired or copied from an Indian movie name Aashiqui 2. I just knew what's coming next, scene by scene. And by the way, yes , it is better in many ways than the original one. May be best of Bradley Cooper ever.
Hold on a sec guys….its an remake of Indian movie ashiqui 2 which was a huge success for its story and music…
I am sorry but, this movie pissed me off because Bradley Cooper's character showed SO many signs of depression and desperation yet nobody really tried to help him. They ignored it and let him kill himself while riding off his success. In the end Sam Elliot says it's not your fault and I call bullshit. People need to be honest and aware of the people in their lives and when someone shows that many signs of desperation they need help and are looking for someone to help them. I've seen it many times throughout my life and when people fail to be there for a friend, a spouse, or a sibling it shows and then they are shocked when the worst happens. This stuff is preventable, but it takes awareness, care, and a friend to help people through these situations. I wish the best of luck and my prayers to anyone who deals with these issues. I hope you have someone in your life to steer you in the right direction, love, and help you through your struggles. Imo this movie doesn't do much in helping people in those situations and promotes the thought that no one is to blame but the person who "did the deed". THIS IS FALSE. Be aware and help the people in your lives. Thank you for reading.
This is actually the 4th time this movie has been remade with new cultural changes to the script!
fuckin shill
Sam Elliott was a joke in this movie a big cry baby!!
BOO HOO!!
1st half hr was good but went downhill fast totally predictable and way too long Best part was when he pissed his pants and then killed himself….. WHAT A JOKE
The music was so goddamn good! I love the music. But this movie sucks so bad.
Wow it really feels like I'm the only person in this comment section that didn't think this movie was amazing. It was 7/10 at best for me. It's emotional bait that didn't catch me.
Love u Chris but this was a very meh review. You kinda went through the motions. I also think u undervalued the movie I thought it was awesome 10/10.
The movie is pure shit…..
I could not listen to the songs and skipped them after 30 seconds

Overrated movie. This is movie didn't do anything for me and I cry in The Lego Movie 2…yeah.
