Dear Vox: great video, but viruses DO NOT have organelles inside (like bacteria or other cells do), just the nucleic acid chain (a very long single strand of RNA in the case of SARS-CoV-2)… 😉

We should help people get thru this pandemic. Los Angeles should have fire department create streets filled with soap bubbles. Maybe at that point, the mayor of Los Angeles will let people out to be accidentally hit by vehicles.

Not all viruses have envelopes made of lipid and their shell is made of glycoprotein, so I wonder if the dissociation effect applies to virus without an envelope as well? I always thought the most dominant effect is that the surfactants remove the virus from the skin and allow them to disperse in water to be flushed away.
