ESPN FC’s Craig Burley, Alejandro Moreno and Gab Marcotti break down Tottenham’s defeat on penalties vs. Norwich City in the FA Cup fifth round. Burley says Jose Mourinho “hasn’t changed” by talking about next season after facing injuries and adversity this campaign. Moreno adds that Mourinho’s history of deflecting blame continues by coming into a struggling team and putting all of the responsibility on the players.

I don’t understand why everyone abusing jose ok his still top 5 managers in the world but the problem is when you lose your best players to injury it really like a domino effect it’s affects the players morale and games

It’s fashionable to heap the blame on Jose it’s seems. This Spurs squad peaked already as are now on the decline, worst their two best players are out. This current Spurs squad finished ahead of Liverpool twice in the last 4 seasons but they remained stagnant while Liverpool invested and are now seeing the error in their way.

I blame Levy for his transfer cheapskate negativity
Our winter signings could have bought marquee Bruno Fernandez
but no he went cheap .
At least Alan sugar went for Klinsmann
you need to invest heavily in your team to get results.
Chickens have come home to roost.
Mourinho needs time

These guys have no idea what they are talking about (it's not the same team that got to the C1 final last year)…if you lose Kane, Son and Eriksen (which I think its 50% of Spurs strength) you cannot expect Mourinho come and win everything :))

“CLUELESS ONE “ target 🎯 was :-

1) to win FA cup

2) to remain on top 10 in league

3) if none the above… than top 20 in the league lol 🤪🤪❗️

Mourinho is stuck in the 00's. He is still way too stubborn and arrogant to see reality of his playing style. He is psychologically the most negative person they could have.

I am starting to think he is doing this deliberately to spite Chelsea when they turned on him! 🤣🤣

Norwich are a good team, but it's all about how Tottenham didn't play well rather than how Norwich did. Sure they don't have the millions to spend that all the other Premier League teams do, but they play positive football, bring up youngsters to the first team and operate on a shoestring, and still outplay teams. Yes consistency is a problem, but having the worst injury record of any team in the league, and in the early season having no senior centre backs for nearly half the season didn't help. So lets give a bit of credit to teams outside the big teams who may not have a lazy 100m to spend.

Mourinho has refused to evolve and develop himself. Compared to 15 years ago, teams are generally fitter and better at keeping the ball. Mourinho's old school tactics of soaking up pressure and then nicking a goal from a counter or set piece will not simply work, even on Norwich.
In modern football, you don't sit back and hope the opposition makes a mistake, you take control and pressure a team, forcing them to make errors.

Once Kane and Sissoko is fit, they will be fine. And he should play Ndombele. Who is this Dier and Wink ?
